Kryonik Kosten: Preise, Finanzierung, Tipps

Die Kosten einer Kryokonservierung sind von verschiedenen Faktoren abhängig. Dazu zählen die Art der Konservierung (Ganzkörper oder Neuro), die Auswahl des Anbieters, die regionale Verfügbarkeit von Standby-Teams sowie mögliche Zusatzkosten für einen Transport oder die Einzahlungen in einen Patient Care Fund.

Kryonik Kosten verstehen

Vor, während und nach einer kryonischen Versorgung fallen verschiedene Kosten an. Diese müssen durch den Kryonikpatienten gegenfinanziert sein. In der Regel fallen folgende Kosten an:

Mitgliedsbeiträge: Die Mitgliedschaft in einer Kryonik-Organisation ist mit Verwaltungsaufgaben und daher in der Regel mit der Zahlung von Mitgliedsbeiträgen verbunden. Diese Gebühren können ggf. als einmalige Zahlung entrichtet werden oder fallen als jährlich/monatlich wiederkehrende Beiträge an.²

Standby-Kosten: Entscheidend für die optimale Konservierungsqualität ist die schnelle Reaktion nach dem legalen Tod.¹ Standby-Kosten decken die Ausgaben für ein spezialisiertes medizinisches Team ab, welches im Idealfall bereits vor dem Tod des Patienten in der Nähe bereitsteht und unmittelbar nach dem Tod – noch am Sterbeort des Patienten – die notwendigen Stabilisierungs- und Perfusionsmassnahmen einleitet.⁴

Perfusion: Hiermit sind die Kosten für den eigentlichen Prozess der initialen Abkühlung des Körpers, dem Austausch des Bluts durch Krypoprotektiva und der Vorbereitung des Körpers für die langfristige kryogene Lagerung gemeint.⁴ Dabei fallen Kosten für Wegstrecken sowie Personal- und Materialeinsatz an. Je nach Arrangement und Ort der Durchführung können diese Kosten in den Standby-Kosten enthalten sein oder zusätzlich anfallen.

Transport: Diese Kosten umfassen die Überführung des Körpers vom Sterbeort zum gewählten Kryonik-Institut. Sie können je nach Entfernung, Ort (Inland vs. Ausland) und erforderlicher Dringlichkeit erheblich variieren, insbesondere wenn ein Patient eilig per Flugzeug transportiert werden muss.⁴

Langzeitlagerung: Nach erfolgter Behandlung wird der Patient in spezialisierten kryogenen Dewargefäßen auf unbestimmte Zeit gelagert. Die Wartung der Gefäße sowie die Versorgung mit flüssigem Stickstoff verursacht Personal- und Materialkosten.⁴ Die vpm Patient eingezahlten Beträge werden dabei aber in der Regel nicht selbst verbraucht sondern langfristig angelegt, um die laufenden Kosten aus den Zinserträgen zu begleichen.

Notfall-Zuschläge: Einige Organisationen erlauben auch die Kryokonservierung von Nicht-Mitgliedern, dann in der Regel jedoch gegen eine Zusatzgebühr (Aufschlag auf den Preis der Langzeitlagerung).

Patientenbetreuungsfonds/Wiederbelebungsfonds: Ein Teil der von den Mitgliedern entrichteten Gebühren wird gelegentlich in einem zweckgebundenen Fonds, zumeist einem Trust, gesammelt. Dieser dient dazu die Kosten einer späteren Wiederbelebung zu decken.⁴

Preisstruktur der Kryonik-Organisationen

Nachfolgende Tabelle gibt eine Übersicht der Kosten der drei großen Kryonik-Organisationen (Stand 05-2025):

Wichtig zu beachten: Für Arrangements mit Alcor oder CI in Deutschland ist derzeit der Abschluss einer zusätzlichen individuellen Standby-Versorgung dringend empfohlen. Dies kann z.B. über speziell geschulte Bestattungsunternehmen erfolgen. Die DGAB e.V. unterstützt Interessenten beim Abschluss entsprechender Verträge.

Finanzierung durch eine Lebensversicherung

Es besteht die Möglichkeit, die Kosten einer kryonischen Versorgung fast vollständig durch eine Lebensversicherung gegenzufinanzieren.

Dabei wird eine reguläre Lebensversicherung oder Risiko-Lebensversicherung in Höhe des gewünschten Betrags abgeschlossen und die Kryonik-Organisation als Begünstigter benannt. Im Todesfall wird der Betrag an die Kryonik-Organisation ausgeschüttet. Dadurch entstehen lediglich – je nach Startzeitpunkt auch ggf. nur sehr geringe – monatliche Beiträge zur Lebensversicherung zzgl. der Mitgliedsbeiträge.

Wichtig zu beachten ist jedoch: im Falle einer Risiko-Lebensversicherung zahlt diese nur bis zu einem vorher festgelegten Alter (in der Regel bis zum Renteneintritt). Danach muss die Finanzierung der Langzeitlagerung durch Eigenmittel erfolgen.

Preisrisiken

Da zwischen Vertragsabschluss und Abruf der Leistungen in der Regel viele Jahre vergehen, sind bei der Kalkulation der Kosten Preisrisiken durch Inflation, Wechselkursschwankungen, Erhöhung der Mitgliedsbeiträge/Gebühren oder Erhöhung der Prämien für die Lebensversicherung zu berücksichtigen.

Tipps zur Kostenoptimierung

• Schließen Sie so jung wie möglich eine Lebensversicherung ab, um von den niedrigen Preisen bei guter Gesundheit zu profitieren
• Prüfen Sie die Option einer Neurokonservierung. Diese ist in vielen Fällen die deutlich kostengünstigere Alternative.
• Führen Sie einen sorgfältigen Vergleich der Anbieter hinsichtlich der Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnisse durch.
